This cottage is lovely; well equipped, very comfortable, clean and cosy. Ideal for two people and one or two dogs. We had no problems parking in the designated space. It's a great base for visiting Monsal Head, Chatsworth, and so on, and an easy walk to Bakewell - Monday is market day. Wifi signal is patchy but we were able to log on when needed. WRead moree usually like to find other places to stay each time we visit the Peak District but we'd be happy to stay here on another occasion. Hide

My husband and I and our two large dogs had a fabulous week in the cottage. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Had an absolutely lovely week in Top cottage. Neighbours very friendly. Location was beautiful and was ideal for our two cocker spaniels. Just a short walk into Bakewelli and famous Thornbridge brewery. Lots of lovely walks and places to see. Would most definitely stay here again x

Lovely cottage, well equipped and perfect size for two guests and a dog. Ideal location, the village has a great tea rooms and you can walk to Bakewell. We found there were so many walks in the area we barely needed our car once we arrived.

Good location in a lovely village,. Very quiet and peaceful. The parking space is quite small so if you have a 4x4 it'll be a squeeze! There were 2 pubs but the Ashford Arms has closed down and unfortunately the Bull's Head couldn't cope with the number of people wanting to eat at 6 o'clock. They kept us waiting for nearly an hour before telling usRead more they couldn't serve us. The food looked nice though! Luckily there are plenty of pubs in Bakewell, only a couple of miles away and lots of walks. Hide

A lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful and friendly village where there is a cafe, a pub and a small shop with delicious ham! The previous review re the effort to get to the cottage is exaggerated. Car parking is directly under the front window and the front door is at the side of the house requiring you only to walk up the path to reach it. IRead moret was well equipped with everything I needed including a dishwasher. Internet connection is poor however. Will definitely return! Hide

This is a small place in a good location. There is a public footpath that runs outside the kitchen and bathroom. There is good walking from the house and a shop and pub within a short walk. The hosts are in the next door property and helpful people.

The cottage is 2/3 of the way up a steepish narrow hill. The off road parking is a short drive in front of one of two attached garages. Parking is tricky, anything longer than my Honda Jazz would be in trouble. You then need to walk up the hill, across a public grassed area and down 4 steps to get your luggage to the entrance. The cottage is comforRead moretably furnished, the central heating can be adjusted with the wall thermostat, the kitchen and bathroom are clean with cleaning materials provided. Hide
