This charming home is nestled in a row of cottages with a small courtyard garden on the fringes of town, providing a wonderful base to explore the Goyt Valley and Peak District National Park.

This pretty cottage is located on the fringe of the Peak District National Park in the charming town of Whaley Bridge. The town is at the head of the Peak Forest Canal, giving you easy access to beautiful waterside footpaths and cycle routes. If you fancy a long-distance walking challenge, the start of the 268-mile Pennine Way is in Edale, just 11 miles away. Lyme National Trust, with its glorious gardens, is 5 miles from the property.

The cottage is immaculately presented, with stylish interiors and elegant touches throughout. The chic lounge is the ideal place to unwind after a busy day, with soft lighting, ornamental fireplace, and plush sofas to relax on in front of the TV. The spacious kitchen/diner has everything you need to prepare a tasty meal, perhaps using some local produce from your travels. Gather around the large dining table for evenings of delicious food and great chat. At the end of the day, retire to one of the tasteful bedrooms, which are all decorated using calming tones and pretty fabrics. Outside, there’s a patio area with garden furniture, so you can dine alfresco on balmy summer nights.

Pull on your walking boots or hop on your bike to explore the Peak Forest Canal. It runs for 15 miles alongside the River Goyt and is often described as one of the most scenic waterways in Britain. At the start of the Pennine Way, in Edale, there’s a fantastic circular route that you can walk, which encompasses Kinder Scout, as well as part of the national trail. Kinder Scout is the highest point in the Peak District and has a place in history, as it was the site of the Mass Trespass in 1932 which led to the creation of England’s national parks.

Would have preferred a larger and more powerful shower head in on suite bedroom. Not enough large bath towels per person.

Kitchen was overly equipped with stuff not really needed. With very little space to put food. Sheet didnt fit double bed on top floor so woke up each day wrapped up!! Difficult to remake if you have bad hands. Just a niggle nothing spoilt our stay. Rest of house perfect, clean, good location. Loved our stay here and would come back.

Very comfy cottage in great location in friendly Whaley. Easy access to loads of fabulous walks. And just right for Xmas this year near our daughter working in Stockport. We loved the nearby Cock pub and also the welcoming Italian restaurant Casa de Pizza - which goes way beyond pizza. Thanks!
