This unique one bedroom, Scandinavian-style cottage, is located as the name suggests, in an idyllic location on the banks of the River Wye, in the heart of the popular market town of Bakewell. Converted from an old sawmill, the building now offers quality accommodation in a pleasantly unusual position, with the original fabric and style of the building having been retained. The uninterrupted views up to Bakewell Bridge, and beyond and down river will be a fond talking point.

The interior also impresses, styled from the owner’s Scandinavian heritage and love of Danish design. Riverside Mill really is an oasis of Nordic calm in contrast to the vibrant market town a few minute’s stroll away and short drives to Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall. The accommodation is single level, but reached by a short ascending staircase. On entry, the apartment, has tasteful oak flooring throughout. To the left is the master bedroom, with its super king size double bed (this can be split into two singles on request) - the drama of the vaulted sloping ceiling adds to the room’s charm. On your right is a very generously sized bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen is just next door and to your left the open plan lounge dining area enjoys the stunning views of the River Wye.

Perfect location with 2 minute walk into the centre of the town. Designated parking space is ideal in this busy part of Bakewell. Beautiful view out onto the river. Lovely apartment. Very convenient in Bakewell and although its over the Woodyard pub its not noisy as someone said. Perfectly clean, modern and bright. Great for visiting Chatsworth, Hardwick and Haddon Hall. Also good central position for walking. We walked miles. Thanks Chris

Fantastic location with relaxing views over the river, however its a sparse property and very basic with few homely touches.

Lovely flat in a great location near to town and walking paths with fantastic view of the river, spent a lot of time watching the ducks, moorhens and coots as well as a resident kingfisher. Some people commented on the noise from the restaurant downstairs but never found it to be that loud (the birds on the river at night make more noise), by the wRead moreay the restaurant is well worth a visit. On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The booking process was simple and the owner friendly. The apartment is very clean and spacious. The bed was very large and comfortable. The kitchen is a bit sparsely appointed. The location is excellent for Bakewell (a couple of minutes quiet walk). However, the apartment is directly above part of The Woodyard resRead moretaurant. The issue is that you can hear bass from their music from around midday until about 9:30pm. It is not that loud but always present. Hide

A fabulous apartment in an idyllic location ( bar the occasional music noise from the adjoining bar/restaurant). The kitchen is excellent but it does need more crockery and pans etc for self catering , however there are numerous cafes and restaurants within easy walking reach.
