Treat yourself to a glamping getaway at this bespoke pod sitting in a peaceful complex of farm properties just 3 miles outside Ashbourne. Sleeping two people in one sleeping area, it’s an excellent choice for couples who are yearning for a tranquil escape in the Peak District. Spend a contented day exploring the lively market town of Ashbourne, which is overflowing with historic buildings, boutiques and welcoming cafes. In the evening, come home to enjoy a BBQ dinner on your pod’s decked area.

Pull up in your private parking space and follow the path to your secluded hand-built retreat, which is perfectly positioned to make the most of the views towards Carsington Water. Inside you’ll find a open-plan layout with rustic oak flooring, a sleeping area and a cleverly designed kitchenette. Make yourself a cup of tea and then head out onto your decked area to fire up the charcoal BBQ and enjoy an al fresco dinner. Toast marshmallows at the firepit before you head back inside to sink into the inviting double bed. There’s also a set of bunk beds that’s perfect for any younger guests. A few steps away from your pod you’ll find the site’s shared facilities: a covered outdoor kitchen with gas hobs and a Belfast sink, two private heated shower rooms, and an information room with an honesty shop, books, board games, maps and super-fast Wi-Fi. Pack up a picnic and head to Carsington Water (5 miles), to hike the 8-mile circular route around its shores or try your hand at sailing or paddleboarding.
