A delightful terraced stone-built cottage, situated in the heart of the thriving village of Longnor, in the Peak District National Park.
Enjoy a stay in the Staffordshire Peak District when you arrange a break at this delightful stone cottage, set on a cobbled street in bustling Longnor. Sleeping four guests, the two bedroom property, is well-positioned for strolling around the village, with its shops, marketplace and craft centre. Head out from your base on long walks through the picturesque Dove and Manifold valleys, then return home to sit out in fresh air in the charming, walled courtyard, with a cup of tea and slice of cake.
Let yourselves into the pretty cottage and find yourselves in the country-style kitchen/diner where you will be able to take turns at preparing tasty holiday fare for everyone to enjoy. Gather round the table in here to chat together or wander on through into the lounge to stoke up the wood burner and relax for a while. Switch on the Smart TV; enjoy your favourite tunes through the wireless Sonos speakers or read a chapter of your book. Venture up to the first floor to find a king-size room and a double room, together with the family bathroom. Awake on sunny days to enjoy breakfast and perhaps morning coffee out in the courtyard. Parking at the cottage is on the road, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Head 1.5 miles out of Longnor to reach the impressive Peak District hill of High Wheeldon. Follow a 6-mile walk in this area, which also takes in Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill. Drive 6 miles to see English Heritage’s Arbor Low Stone Circle, a Neolithic henge monument, and Gib Hill Barrow, a burial mound. Venture almost 7 miles into the Derbyshire spa town of Buxton, with its impressive Georgian and Victorian architecture and many independent shops, as well as a spectrum of cafes, pubs and restaurants serving local produce.
