This accommodation all on one level offering stunning views and spacious rooms in a wonderful spot nearby to Ashford in the Water.

Create everlasting memories in this fabulous country cottage, perfect for families, couples or groups of friends. The single-storey stone house is located in glorious countryside just outside Ashford-in-the-Water and has walks straight from its front door.

This immaculate accommodation has a fresh, country/modern look and is beautifully decorated throughout. The views from the spacious lounge are truly stunning and, when you have closed the curtains in the evening, you can admire the flickering flames of the wood burner adding extra warmth. Curl up on the comfortable sofas and enjoy watching favourite films on the Smart TV or discussing the next day’s activities. The bright kitchen/diner is another gorgeous room, with a huge range cooker and a farmhouse-style table and chairs for sociable gatherings. All on the same level you will find three pretty bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, sharing a handsome family bathroom. Head outside and there is a raised terrace and outdoor dining furniture. With yet more fabulous views, this is the ideal spot in which to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, perhaps with an al fresco meal or simply a coffee and a good book.

Stroll less than half a mile to the charming village of Ashford-in-the-Water, famous for its medieval Sheepwash Bridge, where there is a pub, shop and tearooms. Another 1.5 miles will take you to vibrant Bakewell, with great places to eat and drink, independent shops and, of course, the opportunity to try the iconic Bakewell Pudding. You can walk or cycle from the door of the cottage, and will definitely want to join the traffic-free Monsal Trail through beautiful valleys, fells and hills. Further hiking adventures could contrast the scenery of the higher, wilder Dark Peak, 13 miles north, with the gentler limestone dales of White Peak, 3 miles south.

  • 3 bedrooms - 2 doubles and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC
  • Electric Range cooker and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave

Great cottage with fantastic views, Sarah was a brilliant host, the surrounding area is lovely with some great walks and pubs. We would recommend the Star Inn in Tideswell who do fantastic Sunday roasts. Also the White Lion in Great Longstone for great lunchtime sandwiches, we had a great holiday at this cottage and would highly recommend it.

Following this, on arrival the house was freezing. Nobody was there to heat the house or at least put it on a timer for arrival. On the coldest days of the year this was not ideal. We relied on the wood burner but almost had to ration as there was not enough wood for the duration of the trip. The host did have someone come over to fix the heating.
