Surrounded by the Heart of England’s beautiful countryside and with nothing but the sound of grazing cows to wake up to each morning, this property is the perfect base for a small group hoping to escape to the country. Sleeping four guests across two inviting bedrooms, the property ideally lends itself to a family or pair of couples holidaying together. Step out and explore the Peak District’s ever-changing scenery close by or visit Derbyshire’s quaint nearby market towns.

Recently renovated to the highest of standards, this barn conversion is bright, cheerful and extremely spacious. Head inside and find the hub of the house: its open-plan kitchen/diner. Equipped with a farmhouse-inspired range oven and a generous kitchen table, this space is your go-to spot for plotting walking routes and planning out days ahead, all over a hearty meal, of course. Continue through into the lounge where French doors lead out to the patio and let light flood in. You’ll no doubt sink into the sofas at the end of each day, eager to put your feet up after a day of adventure.

Located on the brink of the famous Peak District National Park (3 miles), you’ll never find yourself short of glorious walks and hikes throughout your stay. Discover the Limestone Way, a 46-mile route which crosses through the village of Bonsall, just 5 miles away. Whilst in the area, be sure to visit Matlock (2 miles), a traditional town with the River Derwent running through as well as plenty of amenities. For an unbeatable day out, be sure to visit nearby Chatsworth House (9 miles) and explore its history, pretty gardens and delightful parklands.

My wife & I recently enjoyed a nice break staying at Rolling Mill Cottage. Was everything we had hoped for, property is very well presented and well equipped. Lounge/living room is great, good views through the patio doors looking across to neighbouring fields, equipped with good sized TV & DVD player etc. for evening chilling, wood burning stove (Read morewhich we reluctantly didn't use due to some fantastic weather). Just come back from a six night stay at rolling mill cottage. The cottage was spotless with a lovely homemade cake, milk and orange juice for us upon arrival. The location is perfect and we were never short of things to do. The cottage has everything you would need, I was so surprised to find things I wouldnt have expected and had packed. Well equipped, nicely decorated and lots of charachter. A fabulous spot wiht lovely views, some great local walks and a few minutes walk to the Gate Inn which is very good value. Kim, George and Luke are really friendly, helpful and left us a fabulous victoria sponge cake, fresh milk from the dairy and juice. We loved our stay at Rolling Mill! The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, very spacious main bedroom, beds the comfiest I have ever known away from home! Lovely, comfortable, warm cottage. Warm welcome from the owner, and many thanks for the 'best ever' Victoria sponge. Located on the edge of the Peak District National Park but within a 30 minute drive of some stunning walks.

Cottage was very well presented, with a lot of taste full touches. The owners are very friendly and we were welcome with cake, and milk from one of their 280 cows. Excellent bistro pub in walking distance.

What a great cottage. Very clean and it had all the amenities that you needed. The hosts have thought of every thing. I would thoroughly recommend this place. The hosts Kim, George and Luke are friendly and approachable for any questions, but respectful of your privacy. The surrounding country side is wonderful and lovely walks from the door step.

Such a lovely arrival seeing the flowers, cake then milk etc. Cottage is spotless. Lots of very hot water. Couldnt fault anything and hoping to return. Owners are lovely and accommodating. Lovely cottage, exactly as the pictures show, in the pretty village of Tansley. Very well equipped with lovely features such as wood burner and exposed beams. Beautiful cottage with everything you need, in the middle of rolling picturesque countryside & farm land but close enough to the village & it's two pubs. You open your blinds in the morning to inquisitive cows looking in from their barn. We were treated to a freshly made cake on arrival which was gorgeous. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
