Situated near the banks of the River Wye, right in the heart of the of Bakewell the accommodation is all on one level, with allocated parking. This is a perfect family base in the heart of the Peaks.

With so much on the doorstep you can park your car, hang up your keys and enjoy all of the many local amenities and attractions within walking distance. The property is situated near the foot of the popular Monsal Trail – a traffic free route for walkers & cyclists, through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales with Hassop cafe, bike hire and gift/bookshop only a mile stroll. Alternatively, within a short car journey you can visit some of the larger attractions the Peak district has to offer, such as Chatsworth House and farm shop and Haddon Hall both within five miles with the assurance that you can return to your own private parking spaces within this bustling market town.

You step into the ground floor accommodation into a cloakroom area, the perfect place for kicking off muddy boots and finding your slippers. Following through into the lounge/kitchen/diner with the original full length mill windows that flood the rooms with light and make the most of the neutral tones throughout. The stylish lounge area has been beautifully furnished with comfortable sofa where you can relax after a busy day and watch the TV/DVD and door leading out onto a front patio area overlooking the historic mill wheel. The kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Leading off from the lounge are the three, welcoming king-size zip-and-link bedrooms (which can be made into twins on request), one with an en-suite shower and WC. Here you will also find the bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Externally there is a front patio area, overlooking the old mill wheel, with seating provided. There is allocated parking spaces for two cars.

A very well equipped and spacious cottage in an excellent location although some kitchen equipment was worn and needed replacing. The two allocated parking spaces are about 200 metres from the property so luggage will have to be carried to and from.

This ground floor apartment is cosy, well maintained and with attributes galore! The location is perfect being within a minutes walk into Bakewell, shops, restaurants and pubs on the doorstep as well as villages and attractions minutes in any direction. We couldn't fault it and would recommend it highly.

The Mill Wheel is a beautiful apartment with plenty of space and all the equipment/facilities needed for a great week in the Peak District. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Bakewell which has plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs and is a joy to walk around in the daytime or evening. Had a wonderful few days in this lovely apartment. Location was fantastic and the facilities were amazing. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. The owners were amazing and allowed us to leave later so we could watch the Queens funeral. 5 star!

We were expecting 3 double bed rooms but one was a twin. The shower flexi pipe is black and needs a glass clean. There was clothes from the previous occupant in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. Other than that we would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Really pleased with our apartment stay in Bakewell. Great location, easy to find, beautifully presented and super comfortable. A group of five of us met at the cottage for a lazy weekend reunion and it worked absolutely fine for our group. Car parking was a little complicated but nothing that would put us off staying again. We had a fabulous time. Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. I did expect a supply of toilet rolls as my experience is these are supplied but other than that, excellent accommodation. Love finishing touches such as dog treats.

The cottage was spacious and very well equipped with everything that we could possibly need. The beds and pillows were very comfortable as were the sofas. The 50" t.v. was a real bonus! The kitchen was fitted out to a high standard and the large lobby was ideal for wet coats and boots. This must be one of the best locations in Bakewell and to have Read moretwo designated parking spaces is a real plus. We had a lovely holiday and hope to return in the not too distant future! Hide

A well situated apartment with easy access to the town centre and suitable for wheelchair users. Well decorated, comfy beds, & sofas and nice welcome touches. Other reviewers mentioned the scraping floor noise from upstairs so we were prepared somewhat for that. Tends to be rather warm during the day.
