Quarnford is a high, isolated area on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands in the Peak District. The village of Flash is the main focus of the settlement, the highest village in Britain at 1518 ft above sea level, surrounded by gritstone moorland. From Quarnford you can follow a winding lane down to Gradbach for lovely walks through woods to Wincle and The Ship Inn. A drive southwards takes you past the impressive rocky outcrop of The Roaches. Look out for wallabies! With all this nearby and being set close to Bakewell and Buxton it makes this a great base for getting out and exploring the whole of Derbyshire.
