The only potential negative is the 2 mile single track and poorly maintained road leading from Hartington to the Cottage , if you intend to use your car frequently this would become a chore. That said once on site the cottage has everything you need and some stunning views . The cottage was beautiful. Spacious and somewhere to curl up warm in the evening after a long walk. And its surroundings were perfect. Tucked away in the countryshire. Very quite and peaceful. Its an ideal base to journey around from, or just to walk out of the front door and into wolfscote dale or hartington village. We would highly recommend thisRead more place Hide

Lovely, comfortable cottage. Beautiful views over the valley. Would recommend satnav to Hartington, then follow the clear directions given by the hosts from the village up the lane to the end and the cottages. Hartington is a useful pretty village with pubs and village stores. A great base for the Peak District.

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Everything was perfect for a relaxing holiday. Just be prepared for a two mile single track road with no passing places up to the property.

A great place for a grown up family to stay. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time using Purple Orchard (Tom Boys) Cottage as a base for exploring the Peak District.

This cottage is at the end of a single track, rutted road with very few passing places. It's almost 2 miles so if your plans include car travel each day you might find this a little tedious. Otherwise, there are so many beautiful circular walks from the cottage that it's lovely not to have to drive. The view from the front is amazing. It's clean anRead mored comfortable and well equipped except that I really missed some freezer space. The fridge is a larder type. I definitely recommend this cottage. Hide

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Location: it's around a 5 min drive or 30 min walk into the local town. The town has a great place for breakfast and two good pubs. It's around a 30 min drive away from the main Peak District hiking routes. Cottage: Unfortunately the place wasn't 100% clean when we arrived. It was also missing a few essentials Read more(e.g. towels, body wash, cooking oils), but the hosts provided us with towels when asked. Hide

TomBoys Cottage is in beautiful and peaceful surroundings and suited to younger people, who enjoy walking directly from the accommodation. It does not enjoy TV reception. Access is two miles from Hartington, up a narrow track.

The cottage and the surrounding area is beautiful. We took our dog as it was dog friendly and we were surrounded by wildlife. Very remote and perfect for a walking holiday, great location if travelling around the peak district.
