There is so much to see and do, with the Pennine Way within two miles and the peaks of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow within easy reach. The market town of Glossop, with its transport links to Manchester and local towns is also close by. Other attractions further afield include the Blue John Mines, Treak Cliff Cavern and Speedwell Cavern, a flooded underground cave system that is explored by boat. Well worth a visit is Lyme Park and Hall where Pride and Prejudice was filmed in 1995 and Peveril Castle, situated near Castleton built in 1080. Derwent Valley with a picturesque series of dams and reservoirs where the 'dam busters' trained. In the immediate vicinity of Moorfield are the hills, valleys and streams that make up The Peak District National Park.

Stepping into the stunning open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which is incredibly spacious, the kitchen area offers electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and there is a dining table large enough to comfortably seat four people. Leading onto the lounge area with comfortable seating, reclining sofa and double sofa bed, TV/DVD and table football for some competitive fun, the huge windows frame the stunning gardens that surround you. The downstairs bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC. Meandering up the feature staircase to the mezzanine floor which offers a king-size bed, hanging space for clothes and a dressing area. Feel like the king or queen of the castle looking over the accommodation below, with the stunning carved beams sweeping over the bed providing a very characterful escape.

Lovely property where you feel like in a castle. Nothing was a problem for owners. We had an excellent time.

We found the property to be really comfortable for two. Plenty of room. Relaxing. Perfectly fine for when the weather is poor and one wants to stay in to read, play table football, etc. Within easy reach (approx. 30 minutes drive) of a number of attractions - including the Derwent Valley Dams, Lyme Park, Castleton and the Blue John caverns, etc - aRead morell of which are well worth visiting. Lovely location, excellent accommodation and a perfect getaway. So much better than a hotel, a place where you can hang out for a day if the weather isn't good or you just want to be lazy. I'd highly recommend the Billiards Room.

We had an amazing stay at this property over the easter holidays and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend a few romantic and relaxing days. Very close to nature and the Pennine trail. We had some rain and snow but still managed to go for a very long hike.
