Holiday cottages to rent in Darley Dale
The development of Darley Dale in Derbyshire owes much to Sir Joseph Whitworth, a wealthy industrialist, who lived at Stancliffe Hall - his legacy includes the Whitworth Centre and adjoining attractive park. In the churchyard at Churchtown is an enormous old yew tree; with a girth of 33ft it is one of the thickest in the country. A heritage railway run by Peak Rail operates trains from Darley Dale Station to Matlock which makes for a nice day trip.
Close by are the historic towns of Matlock and Bakewell making this the perfect base to explore the Peak District National Park and all the amazing places that come with it. Stay in a self-catering cottage in Darley Dale and plan a holiday to remember.
