Visit the ruins of the Norman era Peveril Castle high up on the hill above Castleton. The semi-precious stone known as Blue John is unique to Castleton and seams can be found deep below ground in the caves. Jewellery can be bought in shops around the village which makes a lovely gift or special souvenir.
