Bonsall holiday cottages to let in Derbyshire.
Bonsall is a former lead mining village set 2 miles up in the hills south-east of Matlock in the Peak District. Made up with lanes of small, tightly packed limestone cottages the village is quaint and charming and boasts a market square with an impressive 17th century cross set on top of 13 circular stone steps. The lovely church with its tower sits high up above overlooking the village and providing a nice backdrop for those approaching.
The ancient King’s Head is a notable building in the Market Place, while the Barley Mow is another traditional pub worth a visit (especially when it hosts the annual Bonsall Hen Races!) For those into the supernatural, Bonsall has attracted worldwide interest as a centre for paranormal activity, including sightings of UFO's which many want to learn more about. Could this little place in Derbyshire get any more interesting?
Come and discover Bonsall and the surrounding area for yourself whilst staying in one of our self-catering holiday cottages. The towns of Matlock and Belper are settled close by and offer lovely and relaxed day expeditions. They can provide a cosy and comfortable base to explore from and return to after a full day out. Families will love our spacious barn conversions and those who want to take the dog will enjoy browsing our pet-friendly cottages.
