Holiday cottages to rent in Castleton in the Peak District.

Situated in the lee of the famous Mam Tor, Castleton is approached through the striking limestone gorge, Winnats Pass or the Hope Valley. Castleton is a superb holiday location if you love show caves – the village is close to quite a few such as Treak Cliff Cavern, (which has the largest natural cave mouth in Europe), and Peak Cavern the deepest of the show caves and home to the spooky ‘Bottomless Pit’. Visit the ruins of the Norman era Peveril Castle high up on the hill above Castleton. The semi-precious stone known as Blue John is unique to Castleton and seams can be found deep below ground in the caves. Jewellery can be bought in shops around the village which makes a lovely gift or special souvenir.

Close by are the historical towns of Buxton and Bakewell which both offer up lots of outdoor pursuits to try and attractions to visit of a day. All of this and more can be enjoyed during a holiday to the Peak Disrict

Stay in a Castleton holiday cottage during your self-catering break to the Peak District. Whether you are holidaying with your loved for a romantic escape, or a family gathering we have accommodation large and small just for you close to all the attractions. Bring your dog too as we have a great collection of pet-friendly holiday homes in and around Castleton too - they will just love exploring Derbyshire. Visit our collection today.
